★★★★★“The show’s a start-to-finish sensation. The performances and the plays absolutely fly” Daily Telegraph

America in the mid-1980s. In the midst of the AIDS crisis and a conservative Reagan administration, New Yorkers grapple with life and death, love and sex, heaven and hell.

★★★★★“A blistering production. The entire cast are superb ” Whats On Stage

This new staging of Tony Kushner’s multi-award winning two-part play is directed by Olivier and Tony award winning director Marianne Elliott (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and War Horse). Part One: Millennium Approaches was first performed at the National Theatre in 1992 and was followed by Part Two: Perestroika the following year and will be screened on July 27th 2017 at 7pm at SpArC Theatre

The work won numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Play, and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play.Prize for Drama, the Tony Award for Best

The play is a complex, often metaphorical, and at times symbolic examination of AIDS and homosexuality in America in the 1980s. Certain major and minor characters are supernatural beings (angels) or deceased persons (ghosts). The play contains multiple roles for several of the actors. Initially and primarily focusing on a gay couple in Manhattan, the play also has several other storylines, some of which occasionally intersect.- full of grit and wit!

The two parts of the play are separately presentable and entitled Millennium Approaches and Perestroika, respectively.

The cast includes Andrew Garfield playing Prior Walter, Denise Gough playing Harper Pitt, Nathan Lane playing Roy Cohn, James McArdle playing Louis Ironson and Russell Tovey playing Joe Pitt.

★★★★★“Marianne Elliott directs this courageous revival of Tony Kushner’s classic with immense rigour, underpinned by piercingly authentic performances. A true theatrical epic “Evening Standard
