SUMMARY:FAMILY FILM: DOG MAN (U)
DESCRIPTION:★★★★ “The beloved comic book character makes a gloriously funny big screen debut. Dav Pilkey’s half-dog\, half-cop Captain Underpants spin-off is now a superb animation with cross-generational appeal.” The Guardian\nDog Man\, half dog and half man\, he is sworn to protect and serve as he doggedly pursues the feline supervillain Petey the Cat. \n★★★★”Surprisingly good kid movie for the whole fam! My boys (ages 6 and 8) loved this movie and I really enjoyed it too! The visuals move fast with a comic book feel and there are lots of little laughs throughout.” Common Sense Media  \n“Dog Man is half human\, half dog\, and all hero cop. He must protect his town from Petey (Pete Davidson)\, the “evilest cat in the world” – but unfortunately for Dog Man\, the felonious feline is full of bright ideas to cause havoc…” Empire

SUMMARY:Afternoon Film: Oh My Goodness (Juste Ciel!)
DESCRIPTION:Oh My Goodness! (Juste Ciel!)\nLaurent Tirard’s hilarious comedy sees the eccentric sisters of the Convent of St. Benedict set out to save the local nursing home by entering a major bicycle race to win the cash prize…\nWhen the local nursing home finds itself in dire straits and in danger of falling to pieces\, it’s down to Mother Veronique (Valérie Bonneton) and the four eccentric sisters of the convent of St. Benedict to find a way to help. \nSpotting a poster for a bike race with a €25\,000 cash prize (and the incentive of a trip to the Vatican for the winner!)\, the sisters might just have their answer. The only drawbacks are that they are terrible cyclists\, and their rival convent\, led by Mother Veronique’s childhood nemesis Mother Josephine (Sidse Babett Knudsen)\, have their own plans for the prize money – and just a little more experience… \nBut God works in mysterious ways! \nFun and frothy\, Laurent Tirard’s hilariously absurd comedy will have you rolling in the aisles\, and the stunning landscapes of France’s Jura region provide a beautiful backdrop too! \n“Silly French comedy!” \nin French with Subtitles \nSupported by the Friends of Bishop’s Castle Community\, Care Home and Hospital.\nTea and biscuits £1\,\nNo stairs\, tables  & chairs\,\nHearing loop\,\nFree Dial–a-ride bus service from Bishops Castle and Lydbury North please phone 01588 638350\nAll Tickets £4 Accompanying Carers FREE

DESCRIPTION:  \n \n7.0 IMDB\nThree generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. Still haunted by Beetlejuice\, Lydia’s life soon gets turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife. SUMMARY:LIVE: New Art Club - Cupid's Revenge
DESCRIPTION:In today’s disposable world where love is used to sell us everything from plug-in cars to yoghurt…where did real love go?\nThe latest dance theatre comedy show by groundbreaking performance company\, \n\n★★★★Cupid’s Revenge revels in the hilariously oppressive details of everyday life before distilling them into a breathtakingly moving gut punch. Daily Express \n\nA fine double act\, with as much endearingly mischievous dexterity as their handling of verbal humour. The Times ★★★★ \n\nNew Art Club\, is a joyful\, physical and verbal out burst against the forces that masquerade as love. Mythical love that drives the creation of the universe and everything in it. \nRomantic love. Love between friends. Love between you and the people you love. \nIt is funny\,sad and reflective. It is not a story but it holds lots of stories inside it. In that way it is like you. It has a flickering heart that has crashed to earth. \nWith New Art Club’s dexterous physicality this impossibly big topic is broken open and brought vividly to life.Cupid’s Revenge is an attempt to bring audiences together in a defiant act of unity and love. \n“Cupid’s Revenge is a celebration\, an affirmation: of love\, of live\, of people\, of who we are and what makes us”. Seeing Dance \n“Physical comedy with brains\, I laughed ‘til my face hurt.” – The Observer on Feel About Your Body \nDuration 1hr \nRated 12+ Mild swearing \n \n  \nCommissioned by Pavilion Dance South West and supported by Cambridge Junction\, CIRID\, De Montford University and using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England \nMade for audiences 12+ ( mild swearing)

SUMMARY:LIVE THEATRE: JABS
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nIf ever a play was guaranteed to connect with every single member of your audience right now … its JABS. \nWe’ve all been on the receiving end. But what is life like at the other end of the syringe? \nWhen work fell off a cliff for the singer and comedienne Sally Tonge in March 2020\, she took the unlikely step of retraining as an NHS vaccinator. She quickly realised that her Covid-19 vaccination pod was the smallest theatre in the world … and that the procession of people stepping into it were pure comedy gold. \nJABS is played largely for affectionate laughs … with a few gentle moments of poignancy\, a smattering of new songs and a touch of audience participation (because we all know what we have to do!) \nIt’s also a love letter to the NHS. \nSally plays herself … whilst actors Christina Cubbin and Paul Wilkinson portray an assortment of 16 characters who appear in her pod for a few minutes each. \nThe play is scripted and directed by Chris Eldon Lee (BBC Radio Four producer and founder member of the veteran comedy group ‘Three Men In A Bowtie’). \nTHE CREATIVE TEAM \nSally Tonge is a storyteller\, musician and community artist. She has been working in educational\, health and community settings for over 20 years. Past stage plays include Silhouette\, Shakespeare’s Will (which toured to Elsinore Castle in Denmark)\, Ursula\, Queen of the Jungle (in Edinburgh and India) Atlantic Ladies and Shrewsbury’s Finest Hour. She sings\, plays guitar and tells jokes in Three Men In A Bowtie and musical duo Daylevel … and is a regular artist for Music in Hospitals. \nComedy actor Christina Cubbin made her stage debut aged 9 playing Morgan le Fay in her Junior School’s critically acclaimed production of King Arthur. More recent work includes The Railway Children\, Dear Agnes\, A Bloody Field By Shrewsbury\, Tales of Old Bomere\, Atlantic Ladies\, Shrewsbury’s Finest Hour and far too many pantomimes. \nActor musician Paul Wilkinson trained at Bretton Hall\, gaining a degree in Dramatic Arts. He has worked in theatre\, television and film. His last theatre tour was outdoor Shakespeare on the south coast and prior to that he toured Germany for a year\, worked on soaps\, and did a few adverts … the worst being the one for Pringles (you think you like something until you have to eat it endlessly for two days!) \nWriter and director Chris Eldon Lee has performed 500 comedy gigs with Three Men in a Bowtie and produced at least 250 programmes for BBC Radio 4. This is his 14th play. \nMovement coach Maggie Love famously choreographed Grease in The West End. Her film credits include Fame and Heaven’s Gate. In 2012 she produced a pageant for The Queen\, who liked it!
