We are delighted to welcome back to SpArC this Bristol based duo play outstanding acoustic, folk and roots music incorporating  fiddle, guitar and voice, using the fertile ground of the traditional music of the British Isles as a starting point. The live show is a musical journey through Europe and beyond; combining dazzling playing with a fine sense of musicality and showmanship. “Reminiscent of Martin Carthy and the late Dave Swarbrick and I can give them no higher accolade” Mark Radcliff BBC Radio 2

Kit and Aaron  pair have work with many artists including Seth Lakeman, Afro Celt Sound system, Yola Carter, Mad Dog Mcrea, Sheelanagig and Roni Size to name a few but what unites them is a passion for folk music.

“There seems to be never a dull moment, with imagination firing throughout and an abundance of creative energy that’s sparked off by, and reflected back into, the duo’s playing. They wear their virtuosity lightly, with an easy, natural stylishness and lively turn of phrase, forever exploring the relationship between the elements of the tried and tested fiddle-guitar-voice combination in interesting and surprising ways” – Living Tradition

They draw on their many influences to created unique arrangements of traditional song and tunes, as well as their own compositions.

“The pair demonstrate an eclectic approach that lifts them head and shoulders above the rest” – Acoustic Magazine

Now with Support from SUNJAY

“Sunjay is very much the man of the moment. Not so much the flavour of the month is theflavour of the year.” – Living Tradition
You could be forgiven for thinking at first listen that Sunjay is older than his 22 years.
With a relaxed and confident manner, vocal style and mastery of his instrument he walks onto a stage and addresses the audienceas though he is sitting down to play music with a group of close friends; a completely natural approach for a young man who picked up the guitar when he wasjust 4 years old and hasn’t put it down since.

Sunjay’s style has that natural drift between folk and blues and both camps have recognised his obvious flair.

There have been a clutch of award nominations, including winning the Wath Festival Young Performers Award. He also made the final selection for the BBC’s Young Folk Award in 2012, had three nominations at the Exposure Music Awards 2014 and was also recognised by the 2014 British Blues Awards.

“Sunjay is very much the man of the moment. Not so much the flavour of the month is theflavour of the year.” – Living Tradition

“Already creating a stir with talents way beyond his years. A really soothing, natural sound and most definitely destined for bigger things.” – Maverick Magazine

Drawing from a rich, musical and cultural background it is hardly surprising that Sunjay has quickly become recognised as one of the UK’s rising stars.
“A great voice.”- Blues Matters Magazine
